Since 1995, NILE has trained over 70,000 English teachers globally, through open-enrolment CPD courses and tailor-made programmes for groups, an MA programme with a TEA module, and ELT project management and consultancy for institutions and ministries worldwide. 

Centre for Research in English Language Learning and Assessment (CRELLA) provides scholars, examining boards, and government organisations with guidance and assistance in achieving the highest standards of research and development in English language learning and assessment. A major focus of CRELLA activity is research into the nature of English language proficiency, and into improved methodologies for measuring this.
