Michael Zhan from Medan
the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK, majoring in Economic and Political Science
“Being able to set my feet on the LSE (London School of Economics and Political Science) campus is surely an imagination that has never occurred even in my dream. Hence, I would like to express my gratitude to UTC and the British Council Indonesia Foundation for not only supporting my study financially through the British Council IELTS Prize, but also engaging me in a journey of self-exploration where I discover the purpose of my academic pursuit and how I can pay the generosity which I have received forward to those who are in need. Indeed, it has been a greatly fruitful experience and I encourage every Indonesian student to have a dream of no boundaries.”

“I’m very glad to know that I was selected to be one of the Winner of the British Council IELTS Prize 2014. I thank my parents for informing me about the prize and my friends for helping me prepare the interview. This prize gives me big support to continue my master degree in University of Birmingham. For me, getting the prize will make me more responsible for what I will contribute to the society during and after I study abroad. After graduate from master degree, I want to have a career in hydrogen energy field because currently fossil energy in Indonesia is very limited and already caused bad effect to the environment. Hydrogen energy is very promising in Indonesia to reduce or solve that problem”.
